The "Loop-Over" on Newfound Gap Road as it appeared in 1940. One of the most unique features on the road between Cherokee, North Carolina and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the road makes one complete loop instead of four sharp curves used on the original road. From this point, one can also see the famous Chimney Tops--one of the most rugged and picturesque peaks in the Smokies.
