This sunrise suite is the largest room in the inn and can accommodate four people. However, many couples choose LeConte for the extra space and the views. Being a corner room, there are views both South and East. In addition to the bedroom, there is a large sitting room with a daybed and trundle. You can greet the morning sunrise from your king bed or from the semiprivate balcony overlooking the pond, gazebo, rose arbor, and mist-covered mountains. Mt. LeConte can be seen just over Shields Mountain.
Mt. LeConte is one of the highest peaks in Smoky Mountains National Park. The lodge on top of this mountain is accessed only by trails, the shortest being five miles. Sarah's dad's first cousin built the lodge and his family operated it for years. It is a wonderful adventure to hike up there and spend the night. The accommodations are very primitive, but they stay booked over a year in advance.
