Gatlinburg

The Blue Mountain Mist Country Inn Bed and Breakfast is only a few minutes from the city of Gatlinburg and therefore just a few minutes from any attraction you might want to visit. The following are a few of the "must see" attractions only minutes from the Inn.

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is literally teaming with life - our 10,000 exotic sea creatures comprise more than 350 individual species.
There are more fish in this aquarium than there are people living in the entire town of Gatlinburg. Although Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is hundreds of miles from the ocean, the scenic beauty and the abundance of water all around make the town of Gatlinburg a "natural" location for a world-class aquarium, America's most fun aquarium.

Hard Rock Cafe Gatlinburg

Arts and Crafts Comunity - The largest group of independent artisans in North America. This historic 8-mile loop has been designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. Established in 1937, these artisans whittle, paint, sew, cast, weave and carve to create original collectibles such as candles, baskets, quilts, brooms, pottery, jewelry, dolls, ceramics, scrimshaw, silver smithing, leather, stained glass, wearable fashions, fine photography, frameable art, oils and watercolors, also lodging, restaurants, cafés, tea room, soda fountain and candy shops.

Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & Amusment Park - located over 3,000 feet up the slopes of Mount Harrison in the Great Smoky Mountains. With awesome scenery and eight slopes, skiers and snowboarders from beginner to advanced come to enjoy the thrill of winter fun in the South.
Skate year-round on Ober's huge indoor ice arena. The 140' X 75' indoor ice arena is the centerpiece of Ober Gatlinburg's massive enclosed mall. With over 400 pairs of rental skates available for men, women, and children, you can skate-away an hour or an afternoon.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Smokies Stream and CascadesAt the Blue Mountain Mist, you are only minutes from the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and are convenient to many popular features of the Park, including the Greenbrier area. An auto tour of Greenbrier Road, which runs parallel to the Little Pigeon River, is less than twenty minutes from the Blue Mountain Mist. From the Greenbrier area, you can reach the trailhead to Ramsey Cascades, which is one of the best waterfalls in the Smokies. You can also test your angling skills for trout in the Greenbrier, Middle Prong, or Porters Creek areas.

Cades Cove is the most visited feature of the Park. Millions of visitors annually flock toSmokies Stream and Cascades Cades Cove to see the preserved pioneer homesteads, the blue-misted mountains which serve as a backdrop to the Cove, and the abundant wildlife which now populate the area. To facilitate visitors, the Park provides a self-guided tour book at the Cove's entrance. The 11-mile loop road takes approximately 45 minutes to complete casually from your vehicle. A more detailed look at the homesteads, some of which require brief hikes, can take several hours. Or you can make an entire day of Cades Cove if you stop at the Cable Mill area visitor center and include a 5-mile (round trip) hike to Abrams Falls.

Hiking - The best part of the Smoky Mountains area is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park itself, which has over 800 miles of trails, and more than 500,000 acres of land. During your visit to Blue Mountain Mist Country Inn, you should enjoy several of the hikes the Park has established.

Trout Fishing in the SmokeysFishing - To fish in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you need a valid Tennessee or North Carolina fishing license. They are not available in the Park, but can be obtained from sources in the towns adjacent to the Park.
